Pastor Shannon comes to us from Missouri.  In his professional career he has served in the U.S. Air Force, worked in the telecommunications field and has experience in law enforcement.  Along with various other skills, Shannon bring a knowledge that opens many doors into peoples lives.  He has been married to his wife, Jennifer since 1991. He has two adult children, Alicen and Zachary, a son-in-law, Carl and a grandson, Louis.

A graduate of Greenville Bible Institute, TN, Pastor Shannon is ordained in the Church of God Movement and came to New Hope Church in 2020 after serving as the pastor in Farmington, MO since 2013.  Before becoming a full time minister, Pastor Shannon served in many various ministries over the years.

“I grew up in the Wesleyan style of worship, a member of the Nazarene church for most of my life.  I believe Jesus calls all to repentance and then into salvation but the choice will always be ours to make.  And once we’ve accepted Jesus into our hearts, our lives then becomes a continuous act of worship where Sunday mornings play a small but very important part of that worship.  As a pastor, it is an honor and privilege for me to be a part of this worship.

Although the bible gives us clues as to how we’re to worship Christ, there is no single way our worship has to look.  As long as we approach God with sincerity and a true desire to grow closer to Him, our worship will be different from the church down the street.  Worship doesn't always have to be serious and follow a set routine, just as long as it is genuine. So, if I’m going to be anything, I’m going to be genuine in how I present the gospel to the people.  Laughter, tears, jokes, stories…and mispronounced biblical names are all part of the package.”  - Pastor S.

Pastor Shannon brings a challenge to all who believe.  According to scripture we can only be saved through our faith in Jesus; there is absolutely nothing we can do to be saved.  But found within that salvation is an amazing life meant for good works.  Those good works revolve around people.  Pastor’s challenge is to become involved in peoples lives, the good and the bad.  We are reminded of this by the motto, “Let’s Do Life…Together!”

“I sincerely look forward to meeting and getting to know you.

May your life be blessed through knowing Jesus Christ.”
